Grow bone with
the new MagnetOsTM MIS
Engineered for precise delivery and predictable fusions
MagnetOs for predictable fusions
MagnetOs is a novel solution to allow for predictable fusions and reconstructions in the extremities.1-3
As an advanced bone graft featuring NeedleGripTM submicron surface technology, MagnetOs is uniquely proven, predictable, and powered to optimize outcomes and support surgical efficiency for extremity surgeons.#†‡1,2,4-8
Evidence means excellence in bone healing, which is why MagnetOs is proven and supported by a Level I human clinical study.4
In the study, MagnetOs achieved nearly twice the fusion rate of autograft (79% vs. 47%) in posterolateral fusions.4 Among active smokers – who made up 1 in 5 patients – the fusion difference between MagnetOs and autograft was even more dramatic.*¶4,5
MagnetOs is supported by an extensive blend of peer-reviewed scientific, pre-clinical, and clinical studies through Project Fusion: our global research program, where science and clinical evidence meet.

MagnetOs is predictable and designed to stay put in the extremities.1,2,4,8 MagnetOs is designed to withstand some of the unique challenges faced by extremities surgeons including joint compression, irrigation, and leaking.1,2,4,8
Available in multiple formulations, it’s ready-to-use and offers versatile handling characteristics and options.1-3 Click on the MagnetOs product options below to learn more.1-4
MagnetOs is powered by NeedleGripTM – a proprietary submicron surface technology that harnesses the immune system to stimulate bone growth, without added cells or growth factors.†‡6,7,9

The science behind NeedleGrip is called osteoimmunology – a field dedicated to understanding the relationship between the immune system and the skeletal system.6 As the immune system’s ‘first responders’, monocytes react to their environment by differentiating into different cell types.10
M1 pro-inflammatory pathway:
Macrophages polarize to the M1 phenotype, which are pro-inflammatory and promote fibroblast proliferation, often leading to scar tissue.10
M2 pro-healing pathway:
Macrophages polarize to the M2 phenotype, which are pro-healing and upregulate stem cells to create bone.10,11 MagnetOs NeedleGrip surface technology enhances the pathway to M2 macrophages.†6,10

* 19 of initial 100 patients were active smokers.
† Results from in vivo or in vitro laboratory testing may not be predictive of clinical experience in humans. For important safety and intended use information please visit kurosbio.com/eifu.
‡ MagnetOs is not cleared by the FDA as an osteoinductive bone graft.
# MagnetOs has been proven to generate more predictable fusions than two commercially available alternatives in an ovine model.
¶ Radiographic fusion data of the smoker subgroup were not statistically analyzed as a subgroup and were not included in the peer-reviewed publication.4
