Dr. Thomas Cha specializes in the treatment of spinal disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine with a clinical interest in minimally invasive and motion-sparing techniques. Dr. Cha is the Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Rothman Institute, Sidney Kimmel Medical College/Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Previously he served as Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, in addition to being the director of the combined Brigham and Women’s and Massachusetts General Hospital Spine Surgery Fellowship.
Dr. Cha’s research interests include evaluating patient outcomes related to spinal disorders and treatments with attention to care delivery models. He also has received numerous grants, including from the National Institutes of Health for spine biomechanical research informing diagnosis and surgical treatment techniques.
Dr. Cha has authored over 100 publications of original research, review articles and textbook chapters. He has served at various levels of leadership in number spine surgical societies and presented at both national and international spine surgical meetings throughout the world.
